We'll kick off the year by sharing our summer adventures and our "spares" with a plant swap. Bring a ready-to-transplant extra perennial, shrub, small tree, or houseplant and take home a new addition to your garden.

Caring for Caring for Our Trees TogetherTogether - General Tree and Shrub Plant Care

    Rick Daniels & Dr. Neil Hendrickson, from Bartlett Tree Experts, 1250 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, will be our presenters. 

    Maintaining the health of our trees and shrubs is the topic of these two experienced arborists who will discuss common pests and diseases as well as proper planting techniques and soil care.

Building a Happy Garden Together - Garden Design from the Heart

    Carol King Platt, owner of Carol King Gardens in Wallingford, is a well-known designer and writer, whose work has appeared in The New York Times, Traditional Home, House and Garden, The New London Day and many local publications.
    Her program is about discovering what it is that you really love and need and then making your garden reflect your personal view of happiness.

Painting Together - Calling All Birds

    Carol Welz and other members will demonstrate this make it and take it workshop, where we will paint and decorate birdhouses. Bring your own new birdhouse or a "fixer upper" that needs a fresh coat of paint or use one of the houses that we will provide.

Traveling the World Together - Gardens East and West

    Join in a virtual tour of gardens in Japan and England from the travels of members Kathy Ginotti and Donna DeSimone. They will share photos and stories from their recent travels to these beautiful and distinctly different parts of our world.

Connecting to the Earth Together - 
Garden Earth

    Maureen Haseley-Jones, The English Lady, renowned landscape designer and lecturer, will teach us not only how to create a beautiful garden that flourishes but more importantly how to maintain it organically and without the use of harmful poisons. She will also discuss ways in which we can, through our garden's living spirit, become grounded in our bodies, inspired to reach beyond them, and connect at a deeper level of our beings with the meaning and purpose of Mother Nature and her changing seasons.​
